Symbolists radically changed not only different types of art, but also the attitude towards it. Although the representatives of symbolism belonged to a variety of styles, they were united by the search for new ways of transferring those mysterious forces that they believed ruled the world, vague ideals and elusive semantic nuances.
A special place in symbolism is occupied by the fabulously folklore, close to "modern". Going beyond the limits of the "modern" style, some masters give even more expression to symbolic images, trying to expose the ugliness of the surrounding life in a pointed, often caricature, deliberately illogical way. |
